  1. Notes From The Genetic Journal

  4. As poet and participator, vortex and forefield, I seek an understanding of this thing
  5.       which is my consciousness.  Thus I  watch the watcher, translating the vibrations
  6. in my mind-stuff to the overtones of language.  I chronicle my genes.
  7.                                     Genetic Journal 1
  8.  
  9.                                As Creation still in the act of being created I am Man in search of my Self, 
  10.                                investigating the mystery of my substance, the creator in the created,
  11.                                the cause in the effect.
  12.                                                    As Song Master of the Phylums,
  13.                                 I ascend the multitonic scale of evolution to the tune hummed by 
  14.                                 the Genetic Host beaming in my chromosomes.
  15.                                                    Brought forth
  16.                                 by the genetic body gods rising just beyond the peripheries
  17.                                 of consciousness            chakraed in internal hemispheres.
  18.  
  19.         Following the unending stream of life that flows through
  20.            every cell    communing in the constantly expanding
  21.         universe of my body        continuing on to each creature
  22.            in the cosmos           unfolding into infinity.
  23.  
  24.                             Suspended between supernova and atomic dervish, I am Man,
  25.                                  center of the universe,       disproving Copernicus after all
  26.                             cosmic acrobat trapezing on the tendency toward rebirth.
  27.                                Poised between whirring mass at either end of infinity.
  28.  
  29.                             As midpoint in the cosmos,     balanced by the senses
  30.                                 and the intellect between sabertooth and sky speck,
  31.                             I am creature of the Cosmifarce standing upright
  32.                                 in the midst of it all     measuring relativity by the depth
  33.                               of superimposure.
  34.                                               The celestial hollyhock
  35.                             on the karmic see-saw      as many galaxies within
  36.                                 as beyond.         A billion stars rivered in my intestines
  37.                             like a Milky Way.            Nebulae towed by my lungs.
  38.                             Ten thousand constellations rising up my spine.
  39.                                       Aurora Borealis my stigmata.
  40.  
  41.                                                  From the percolation in my cells comes the intrinsic message
  42.                                                     of my life-prana       of the compassings of the genetic directive
  43.                                                  that lead me from the Cambrian lightning to the here&now
  44.                                                   that bring me to the haloessence of my being
  45.                                                  the substance of this genetic yoga.
  46.  
  47. Begun as always in the reflected microcosm of myself 
  48. by the bringing-to of attention  steadied on the reality
  49. of my tissues         contracting to a single fiber
  50. then drawn in by the concentrated focus of the hidden eye
  51. to a single cell          steadied once again
  52. and allowed to fill with light.
  53.          Icarus on a safe journey toward the sun.
  54.  
  55.              From the cellular oscillations come the emanations
  56.              that mandala every cell      the radiant sphere
  57.              blossoming from the life monad.
  58.              The yantra-centering glowing in each cell
  59.              allowing me contact with the seed                        
  60.              about which the pearl is collected.
  61.                                                    The one-pointed contact that experiences
  62.                                                    the monotheism of a single cell
  63.                                                              that bright-central star
  64.                                                        in the revolving constellations
  65.                                                    just behind my brow.
  66.    In the centering comes the gradual encompassing and flowing through of two billion years of ectoplasmic history,
  67. toward the chemical  realizable  reality of the Self.                    The central quasar of the life-click composing and dissolving
  68. in the maelstrom of a single cell         the membranes chiming like genesis in the cellular process of destruction and repair:
  69. a cosmos,                  birth and death          creation and dissolution         Shiva dancing the Maha Lila
  70. the walls pulsating like a mantra.
  71.                                  And at the nucleus a thousand forgotten faiths
  72. and the ten thousand names of god rendered alfresco in the DNA/RNA matrix.            Suddenly nirvanaed
  73. to a single molecule            perhaps that single atom of Brahman that is said to sustain the whole universe.
  74.      Resolved to One.        The Self in self.                OM TAT SAT
